[edit] Summary
Discoveryland is dedicated to famous visionaries, like Leonardo Da Vinci and Jules Verne who had their own ideas about the future. Discoveryland pays tribute to these great visionaries.
[edit] Walkthrough
Standing in front of Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant on Central Plaza take a look to the right to locate the entrance to Discoveryland. Hidden between the Passport Annuel building and the Fantasia Gardens you can see the Discoveryland sphere. When you walk past it you discover moon rocks in your path. The first thing you'll notice is the gigantic building of Space Mountain: Mission 2 standing proudly in the middle of Discoveryland. To your left you'll find the Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast attraction and the Toy Story oriented shop Constellations. If you continue further you'll see various food carts and Orbitron, Machines Volantes where little spaceships make their turns. If you turn right here you'll walk past Autopia on your righthand towards Les Mystères du Nautilus and Space Mountain: Mission 2. If you continue further you'll find yourself in a peaceful part of the park with a special view of Space Mountain. Continuing further, you'll see Buzz Lightyear's Pizza Planet Restaurant from the movie with its unique pizza hamburger! You're now at Honey, I Shrunk the Audience where you can find out how it feels to be shrunk to the size of a mouse. If you walk further on you'll be able to do some Star Tours or ride the Disneyland Railroad from the Disneyland Railroad Discoveryland Station. On your right is also the shortcut to Fantasyland. On your left are the Arcades Alpha and Bêta and Videopolis where The Legend of the Lion King show is performed 5 times per day (may be subject to change). When you walk on you'll walk past the Café Hyperion where you can get a quick bite to eat.
Discoveryland will give you a good impression of how the future looked one century ago.
[edit] Attractions
The main attraction of Discoveryland remains Space Mountain: Mission 2, a thrilling ride taking you for a trip around the moon. The second attraction in Discoveryland is Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast which is a combination of a dark ride and shooting gallery. An old but no less exciting attraction is Star Tours where a new pilot will take you for a space trip. If you'd rather stay with both feet on the ground then Honey, I Shrunk the Audience may be a better choice, however, be prepared to be shrunk! If you want to experience Jule Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea you have to visit Les Mystères du Nautilus, the submarine from captain Nemo. Then there is of course Autopia where you can drive a car safely, no driving licence required!
[edit] Restaurants
Should you be hungry from all this excitement you can grab a hamburger at Café Hyperion which has the perfect atmosphere to relax in. If you have young children or just want to try the exclusive pizza hamburger visit Buzz Lightyear's Pizza Planet Restaurant. When you're only searching for a drink or a snack you can visit the Rocket Cafe at the back of Space Mountain or just stop at any of the carts in Discoveryland.
[edit] Boutiques
If you're a fan of Toy Story you just have to visit Constellations near the Buzz Lightyear attraction! Should you be more of a Star Tours fan you'd better pay a visit to Star Traders located near the exit of the attraction.
